Figuring things out

Posted by Woodrow

I haven't posted anything in a while due to school obligations, but again I am making a goal to post everyday. I am taking 13 credits this semester so I am pretty busy with all of the homework I have to stay caught up on. Normally I dont have a problem taking this many credits, in fact I usually take more, but this semester 3 of my 4 classes are very intense creative classes so I have no time basically.

I am loving my photography II class but it is kicking my butt! We are studying that Zone System that Ansel Adams helped create and I am still trying to wrap my brain around it. I think I understand what I'm suppose to do but we'll see when I process my film.

My typography class is a lot of fun but I have to hand draw some things and as well all know I cant draw! It is enjoyable though because I love type and layout so I am pleasantly surprised how much fun I am having with it.

And my design class is different, I am mostly just trying to learn as much as I can and still grasp the concepts and have fun while doing it.

Thats all I have today, I'll keep in touch and post more often.

Moon Lake

My In-Laws go to Moon Lake every Labor Day, this was my first year going. It was a very fun trip and I can't wait to go back next year

I was kind of in a creative funk all of last week and didnt want to take any pictures, I almost didnt even take my camera on this trip. I find that when I am in one of these dreary moods that if I go out and shoot I I quickly forget everything thats on my mind and escape all the crap and confusions in my head.

Here are some of the shots I took, I was fortunate to have another budding photographer join me. Her name is Natalee Neilson, she is great photographer and an extremely fun person to shoot with and a lot of fun to be around. I cant wait to see some of the pictures that she took, here are some that I took.

A quick shot I took of Nat

Nat saw this dragonfly and
we took a quick couple shots of it.

I think I like the B/W version of this shot
better than the color

You decide

We saw this tree and knew
that there were some pictures to be taken of it.

Good Friends

Mallory and I are fortunate enough to have some very dear friends. One of the absolute coolest things ever is when two of those friends happen to be together, and when those two people have an undying love for each other, and even better when the whole world can see that love. Ok that was a lot of ands and was dripping with cheesy love, lol. Our two friends Morgan and Gordon got married last weekend and it was a very very cool wedding, I was impressed with everything they did. The ceremony was awesome, and the reception was even better! Morgan and Gordon had an awesome wedding photographer but they were nice enough to let me have some fun and shoot some photos both for me and for my photo II assignment. Here are a few of the shots I took.

Gordon and his Groosman spent some time at Nickelcade before the wedding.
One of the coolest things I have seen done before a wedding.

Sometimes you get lucky, and sometimes you just know where to sit.
I sat down across from The Father of the Bride right before the ceremony.
I dont know what it is but I love this shot.

One of Gordon's Groomsman, Mike, is a pilot.
I loved the watch he was wearing and he was nice enough to let me snag a quick shot.

And here is the obligatory Tie Shot.
Sorry if they are getting old, I cant help it.
